AlphaBank has sent out a notice to their e-Commerce platform customers regarding phasing out support for TLS 1.0 and 1.1 protocols.
In order to comply with PCI DSS requirements, as of 15/3/2021, AlphaBank servers will stop accepting payment requests using TLS 1.0 and 1.1. Furthermore a Web Application Firewall will be activated to protect these servers. The changes have already been applied to their test platform.
The announcement has caused concern among our customers using AlphaBank Payment Gateway extension for Magento 2. Our extension is designed to use the redirect method to send payment requests. In this mode your Magento server never connects to AlphaBank’s servers directly. Instead the customer’s browser is used to send the request to AlphaBank. All modern browsers support TLS 1.3 and as a result there is no need to take any action to stay compatible with the payment platform.
